Part Wanted: Pan/Zoom Control

Perhaps look on ebay for an identical camera with some other problem?

Thanks for the suggestions to look at eBAY. I took a look, unfortunately no one is selling this particular camera. I suppose it is possible that the same part is used on several different models - any way to know which ones? Thanks.

Probably by spotting one that looks the same on the outside. If you spot a cam that is the same size and shape, but with different features, it probably has most of the same mechanical parts and switches.

The only difference between models in this case might be simple on-off zoom switches or variable speed depending on how hard you press.

That doesn't surprise me, however if you keep looking every week or so eventually it's not too unlikely one will turn up. You could also check thrift stores, pawn shops and garage sales, that unit is old enough that it may turn up at one of those.

Perhaps you might be able to repair the cracked unit? I've had very good success in the past using cyano acrylate glue on plastic (polybutylstyrene.) housings. Tends to weld most back nearly as good as new. Also called super-glue or crazy-glue.
