I am trying to decide between the 2.4 and the 5.8 gigahertz models. Reading reviews the 2.4 has battery issues but those can be replaced with nimh batteries. The 5.8 is missing the caller id on the base, which is important when the cordless is flying around the house and only the base is in sight. I am told that I do not need 5.8 in my house being that I had 900 megahertz until now without interference. The newer model (5.8) can be gotten for cheaper than the older one. Does anyone have experience between the 2 and have any input? Is it true that 5.8 is sometimes more static? Thanks
