I picked up a second unit and I'm repairing my Sony DTC 700 DAT tape unit by mixing and matching parts One thing I noticed is that the tape guide rollers that wrap teh tape around teh drum and that you adjust to align the tape to the head are all loose. You can actually pull them right out of the blocks on both of th etransports I have ! This is causing a problem because one pops up and the tape is out of alignment so I get no audio until I reposition it. It looks like its a press fit that has just become loose with age and I'm inclined to super glue it back into the block that it attaches to wondering if anyone has seen this and can advise how to keep this where it belongs The model is Sony DTC 700 and the guide is item #622 on page 57 of the service manual I have teh servive manual and can post it on my website if somebody wants to see it Thanks in advance Bob

Hello Bob,
I have a problem with the ALPS switch and I need the part number of the gear of it. It breaks easily and without it, the caution light goes on and the tape won't run.
If you can post the service manual for the DTC-700 will be great.
About the pin that get loose, I would go with the super glue.
Thanks,
Marcelo
