Do HD DLP tv's require converging like SD projection sets do?

DLP requires no converging unless it is a three chip system. Even then, there may not be any convergence aljustments.

SD projection is not a useful description. Presumably you mean CRT based projection systems, but yuou should be clearer in your description.

By SD I meant Standard Projection, not DLP.

Well there are 3 types of projection tv sets. CRT, LCD and DLP.

I believe you mean CRT.
