Does anyone know what this would entail. Have wireless microsoft that is unavailable in wired format. Would like to make it wired. Have some ps2 and usb cables handy, anyone experienced in these??

Sometimes it's easier to get help solving the problem you're having than to get help implementing your solution.
Here's what I'd do... Drill a hole in the keyboard. Stick in a wire and tie a knot in it. Do the same on the transmitter end. Instant wired keyboard. But that may not solve the problem you're having...unless your problem is people stealing your keyboard.
