Caller ID data

Anyone know of a source for a schematic for the Radio Shack CID 931 (43-

931) device? I need to repair mine. It shorts out the phone line.

If you have an FCC ID, then you might be able to find a circuit diagram and technical description at the FCC web site:

For example, Radioshack's CID 940 wireless caller ID transmitter and receiver have FCC IDs of AAO4300940T and AAO4300940R, respectively. The FCC web site has circuit diagrams, user manuals, technical descriptions, block diagrams, test reports, and photos.

Using the 940 as an example, it appears that the only components capable of shorting the phone line would be the MOV or the rectifier diodes.

BTW, I have already searched unsuccessfully for AAO4300931.

FWIW, the following URL ...

... identifies the manufacturer as "IDT TELECOMMUNICATION (SHENZHEN) CO., LTD." and refers to Radioshack's FCC registration number, "AAOCHN-27258-ND-T", and another FCC registration number, "KT5CHN-27212-ND-T", assigned to the manufacturer.
