? I've got one and am looking for words from others on what they think.

Mine's on order... expect it some time this week.

As you have one, what are your thoughts...

I'm still experimenting. I've not been able to recreate the TS-LINUX build that is on the flash. I have to do that in order to use this device. I've also not been successful in getting ppp working. It seems to make the kernel barf.

Other than that I think it does has some potential. But I'm also testing alternative products as well

Which alternatives have you looked at?

I was looking at some of the XScale products - specifically the ARMcore product.

Unfortunately for initally testing their price ($1600) as well as the low volume pricing is a little higher than I'd like. In volume their prices look very good.

Not yet... I asked them to ship the unit with the new metal enclosure/PSU as it's going into an industrial environment (inside another enclosure), and they were awaiting the shipment from their supplier...

...the wait is killing me! I hope to have it by this weekend.

I'm also looking at developing a custom PC/104 card for it to act as a process monitoring system (with a slave micro/DSP), and also adding the 320x240 QVGA color touchscreen (SLCD by Reach Technologies) which is a RS232 driven that I picked up previously.

In the near future there will be a TS-7x00 with LCD drive capabilities which will remove the need for the serial display, but will also add quite a bit of load to the main CPU, so I may or may not move on to this unit.

At the time of writing the last message my TS-7200 Dev kit was sitting on a table in my development area...

Initial thoughts:

Hardware - Very nice. Mine's pretty much fully loaded less the A/D. The enclosure is very nicely done, although I'm currently powering it directly with 5V rather than goinf through the 24V DC:DC convertor.

Software - As a complete newby to Linux I was a little lost, but I'm finding my way a little more now. I'm now looking at how ot create a Hello World program via the gcc on the CF.

Out of curiousity, how much is this thing? I have seen an addvertisements ( I think in CicuitCellar Magazine) and was curious. T. Marchini

The Reach Tech SLCD was around $300 without a case, and is now available in an industrial enclosure for $450.
