Hi!
Im new to this stuff but I will get a ARM7 von ATMEL (AT91M55800A). Is it possible to use the GNU-tools to programm it. And even more interresting will Linux run with it.

Certainly. Buy my book ;) (It talks about a different AT91 but the tasks are easily portable).
No, but you could squeeze ucLinux into it, I guess. You should define your application before choosing the OS, however. I'd be more inclined to recommend eCos or an entirely custom OS for these parts, due to the greater tunability (for size, in particular).
