several questions on saitek eco charger

hello everybody...

i bought an saitek eco charger (the first one) on ebay recently, and now have several question on how it works; i hope some of you are familiar with it

1.) i can enter the size of the battery, before the charger will reload the battery. with the increasing size entered also the charge time increases; whats the reason for that? i need to know that, because i also recharge a sony akku for a minidisc player, which of course has none of those regular sizes.. it has 1400 mAh, so what do you think, should i recharge it as an AA, C or D cell?

2.) i heard that this first eco charger, just recharges AA up to 1000 mAh, C to 2000, and D to 4000 or something like that. i dont know if this is true; i got some AAs with 2100mAh; will it help if i enter them as C batteries, or can it cause damage on them? if i enter them as AAs will they only be charged up to 50%??

i`ll be grateful for each answer i get, furthermore its alright if you use technical language (i'm studiing physics);

thanks

philipp
