PDA recommendations

Hello.

This is my first post here, so I'm going out on a bit of a limb (perhaps) in asking for this advice, but I'm a bit lost as to where to start looking.

I want to get my wife a PDA. I own one myself - a Palm IIIxe, which I would expect is pretty much a dinosaur by today's standards. I use it mostly as an address/date book (which describes about 50% of its overall functionality, from what I can tell. I'm not complaining - it works just fine for me). My wife has slightly higher hopes for what she would get.

Her wants are 1) color screen, 2) high resolution, and 3) ability to upload digital photos from a camera. She cares nothing about mp3 audio; in fact, her biggest wish is for something which can handle want #3.

My questions are:

1) Are there any PDAs that can upload digital photos directly from a camera (I believe it's a Fuji, but I'd have to look at the exact model and specs to give the details, and I don't have the thing in front of me), or does it usually have to be done through a computer?

2) Are there any PDAs out there nowadays that would have higher-end imaging and resolution capabilities WITHOUT the mp3 audio stuff? Or are they all considered part and parcel of the same technology base?

3) For truly seasoned PDA users out there - what product(s) have you had the best experiences with?

I appreciate any advice that can be provided. Thank you!

-Rob
