Can anyone help with this:
It is in a T0-220 package (of sorts - 5 leads coming from the bottom vs 3) and has the following markings:
~ 8612 (there are 2 ~ one just below the first one, unable to display it in a text message - the 'humps' are a bit more pronounced). 1573 REL

The 8612 could be the date? eg week 12 of 1986 perhaps.
