Hello



I don't know if I'm on the correct forum but can anyone help me?



I need to know what transistor I can substitute for a BC221 as I'm having trouble getting one.

To my generation, a BC221 is a heterodyne frequency meter :-)

Hey, I opened the message expecting to tell the poster that there were better places to ask about the thing. sci.electronics.misc seeme too vague, and I'd expect too few people here to have heard of the thing.

Then I realized it was a transistor he was asking about, and not the piece of WWII surplus.

As no indication of application was given, why not just go up a few number to a BC337/BC327 (ive not looked up BC221 BTW) As its a general transistor I assume its a general application. V/A is about the same.
