looks like the 40 pin connector on the max II development kit is IDE ATA pin compatable, but is LVTTL or LVCMOS signal levels capable of interfacing to a modern harddisk? does it depend on the manufacturer or can the disk drive be run at a lower voltage 3.3V for example?
it would be nice to make a simple HD interface, so any help would be good.
