Which is more durable, Fluke 87 or Fluke 81438 (Sears)?

Hi, I'm looking for a multimeter that will be used 24/7 on DC and mA readings. Are there, in your opinion/experience, any difference in long-term durability between the Fluke 87 (series 80) and the Fluke 81438 multimeters?

Greetings..

THIS question is a bit tough to answer. Why? Due to the fact that it depends on how often you *really* use it (power up, power down), treat it & to some extent how clean the power is to it if used on an external supply. Temperature, humidity, salt, dust and even altitude comes into play in its environment for "long-term durability" calculations. Of course, the best source of relibility/durability figures will come from one source - Fluke. Talking to a sales representative should answer these questions if its use is THAT critical.

Good luck. G.
