Fluke 8050A - MPU failure

It's not any of the one's that I have. I've run all of them without batteries and none seem to have blown up. The 8050A doesn't work without the battery, but I don't think I've done any damage. The replacement batteries haven't arrived yet so I can't test them fully.

Huh. I thought it was the 8050A. In my manual there's a "WARNING DO NOT OPERATE YOUR 8050A-01 WITH THE BATTERIES REMOVED."

I never read the manual until after I get into trouble. I tried one of mine without the batteries, and as expected, it didn't work. The batteries arrived yesterday. I accidentally ordered smaller size batteries, which were cheaper, and made them fit. One 8050a now works fine. No damage. I'll test the other 8050A in the next few days.

In case you missed it, modifications to run the 8050A without batteries:

Same with me, unless there's a chance of damage *and* it's worth over $500.

Thanks, but I wouldn't be bothered. They aren't worth squat, and I already have a Keithley 2000.
