Google is looking for a one of a kind Mechanical Engineer that will support the engineering design team which is responsible for developing the next generation systems. These systems make up our search clusters, that form one of the largest computing platforms in the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Operating and maintain manual and CNC equipment in a lab environment. * Mechanical modifications to assemblies that include cutting, welding, drilling, and sanding. * Design and create test fixtures, jigs, and other mechanisms needed to support a R&D team. * Work on complex parts built out of aluminum, stainless steel or plastics. * Maintain engineering machine shop and machines within it.

Senior Mechanical Engineer/Analyst - Mountain View

Google is searching for a Mechanical Engineer/Analyst with expertise in electronics packaging. The ideal candidate will take responsibility for the analysis and performance of multiple projects from package, to board, to system level, and beyond. Particular attention must be paid to satisfying all performance and reliability specifications, while optimizing for efficiency and flexibility. There will be a strong emphasis on both design and analysis skills. Sheet metal expertise is a must, with an eye toward "radical simplicity". Mechanical Designer/Engineer - Mountain View

We're looking for a Mechanical Designer to independently design equipment and optical systems used in various products and related research projects at Google. A Mechanical Engineering degree is not required but is desired, though the emphasis is on strong design skills. Experience designing and building small-run in-house prototypes prior to production is desired. Prior experience in working with and managing small teams is a bonus.

There will be a strong emphasis on both design and analysis skills. Sheet metal expertise is a must, as is experience designing mechanisms. The ideal candidate will also possess knowledge of optical systems and optical hardware. Some AC power wiring and harness design skills are required. The work will include selecting commercial parts, creating 3D CAD models, making assembly drawings, assembling bills of material, prototyping and analysis of the designs.

This position is based in Mountain View, CA.

Google is looking for an outstanding Hardware Lab Technician to join our world-class design and test team. The ideal candidate will support design engineers on new product bring-up and development which included the setup, test, and trouble shooting of prototype systems down to component level. This position requires strong knowledge for utilizing high-end digital scopes, logic analyzers, and data acquisition systems. Will coordinate the implementation of test methods and procedures, analyze results and recommend changes regarding complex problems to product development engineers.
