atm to cellular?

Feb 22, 2008 3 Replies

hi

i need to soon work with some atm machines that have buit in modems minibank 1500

not sure if i can get to the serial port or if the modems are integrated nor am i sure even if i get to the serial port driving that modem if the commands out would be 'industry standard'

but wondering if anyone might have any such experience or a link with info on above?

basically i need to replace the pots/fxs phone lines with a cellular modem

i am aware of one or two but they cost around 600 to 800 and was looking for some alternatives

if i found a cheep iden or cdma analog fxs adapter that might be a solution, or if i could get to the minibanks serial port i could use a much cheeper iden or cellular modem

any tips appreciated thanks

Hi, the motorola i700 can be used that way with a serial cable. I used it with a laptop to get on the internet from remote locations. that was with motorola MIKE models. rw

appreciate the post, but not sure if i can get to the serial ports in the machines i assume not

I am aware if i can get serial, the iden units can do CSD /out via serial out of the phone to another serial device

i guess don't have serial out of the device i have pots i am likely to be stuck to interface with

so was hoping to find some low cost serial/iden to pots adapter

PCCA Std. 101 covers the AT command set for CDPD and GPRS wireless modems. Except for the wireless extension it is the same as normal.
