MSP430 fuse blowing issue

Hello All,

I am using IAR Embedded Work bench C/C++ compiler for MSP 430 devices. would like to program the fuse of MSP430 chip using JTAG interface. studied from MSP 430 Embedded Workbench User guide, which directed me t use the 'Secure' option in the Emulator menu after downloading th Software using JTAG interface.

I downloaded the software using JTAG interface & found that the 'Secure option in the Emulator menu is not enabled. So I could not program th fuse.

1)How can we enable the 'Secure' option? 2)How to program the fuse using JTAG interface? 3)How should I proceed?

Thanks in advance.

To program the antifuse you require the TI USB or serial *programming* tool. The TI FET debugging tool and clones thereof will NOT program the security antifuse.

what JTAG do you have?

your JTAG should support fuse blow feature to may do so, some JTAGs are just for development and have no fuse blow feature

I am using TI's FET JTAG emulator.

Tsvetan, do your (Olimex) parallel port jtag programmers support fuse blowing?

We've got a few of them - they work well and are good value. (I'm just a user and not associated with Olimex other than as a customer). thanks rob
