I need to use a POWER MOSFET IRF840. I am able to turn ON the MOSFET with a DC supply of a 8V from a DC source. But I am unable to turn ON the Mosfet with an Amplified DC signal of even 16 V. Please help me.

Offhand I'd say that you either a) blew up the FET or b) are doing something wrong, possibly resulting in (a).
What are you connecting where how, and why?

Are we to guess what you are saying when you say "amplified DC signal of even 16V"? If it were 16V from a DC source we would understand but then it would work fine so obviously there is something you are not telling us. Do we get a prize for guessing the correct question?
