MOC5007 Optocoupler drop-in replacement

Hi

We're using the MOC5007 opto-coupler for isolation in an RS485 circuit. Does anyone know of a drop-in replacement for this with slightly better performance?

The pinouts are shown halfway down this page

TIA

From what I know about what is going on in the optocoupler arena it is unlikely that you'll find a higher performance version of a part to replace the MOC5007 in the same package. I suspect that you are looking at a board spin or need to build a small adapter board to fit up some other part in place of the existing part.

You may want to look at these parts from Vishay...

Mouser carries some models:

That does seem to be unobtanium, eh? Try the H11L1, also from Fairchild. From a quick comparison it looks like a fit.

The H11L1 does look like a pin compatible replacement but is hardly speced at higher performance then the MOC5007.

Thanks for those links. The H11N1M looks pin compatible and faster at

5Mhz.

Beware of the inverted output in comparison to H11L1 !!!
