Erase Spansion S29GL-N using PXA270 on Macraigor's OCDemon Flash Programmer

Jun 24, 2009 0 Replies

I've been having problems with Spansion S29GL-N. The CPU I am using is a PXA270 and the flash programmer is Macraigor's OCDemon Flash Programmer.

I have no problems programming but when I tried to 'erase', the programmer seemed to have successfully erased the contents but when I hit 'blank check' it failed. Checking the memory, the contents were really never erased. I should have gotten FF data.

Can someone help me out on this? Do I have to specify the addresses and their values under the 'Write To (or Read From) These Memory Locations'? I'm just confused because, I don't have problems with the Intel flash part without even specifying the addresses.

The Spansion datasheet says, that in order to erase, there should be issued six bus cycles. But I don't know how.

Any help would be very much appreciated. :)
