debugging

Is it necessary to debug the code autmatically produced (by tools such as The Real-Time Wokshop,Telelogic etc) using ISS or an emulator or field testing? Thanks.

You mean the software does automatically what you intended it to do ? Great. Are you sure you understood the requirements for the project ? Great. Now you believe the software does what the project requires it to do ? Great. Just in case you were wrong in one point, what goes wrong when it is actually connected to the reality ? Can you justify not having it tested ?

Since you're asking this question you're unlikely :

-going to pull this sofware up after a 3 hour flight to a customer

-controlling valuable and potentially dangerous gear such as power stations, medical devices, production plants

From the way you ask this question, you're not going :

-to pull this software up after a 3hour flight to a customer

-to control valuable and potentially dangerous equipment such as power stations, production plants, medical equipment
