Sony 27" TV - Horizontal Lines

May 08, 2005 1 Replies

I was checking out tv's today at bestbuy and notice a lot of the flat tubes have horizontal lines. My 15 yr old rca 19" tv I don't notice them. The Sony is suppose to be good but I can't figure out why with these lines running across the screens. The lines are evenly spaced about 5 lines per inch and cover the entire screen. Does this have to do with the 3-comb filter ? Tomorrow I'm going to look more closely at there other tv's and see if I notice the lines. This set is not HD so I don't expect it to be perfect but when my 19" displays no lines and the sony does then I must be missing something.

Thanks, Chris

Sony, & anything made by Sony (Dell monitors), etc, have these aperture-grill technology. These faint dark lines running horizontally, are due to the "Sony" CRT design. Makes for a great picture! Rono.
