installing a din rail timer

Hi everyone.



First, I have to say I am not very good at this!!



I use a din rail switch to control a water pump. this was very easy to install 2 cable go directly to the pump the third is connected in both sides of the switch and this controls if the pump is on or off. The switch only has one entrance in each side.



Now, I bought a din rail timer to automatically control the pump. This timer has 2 entrances in each side. One side has the symbol 1



------------~-------------2 and the other 3------------/-----------4.



Manual says "Ensure that the 230Vac supply is connected to terminals 1 and 2. Load should be connected across terminals 3 and 4."



Anyone can help me?

Probably:

L o--[1 3]---[ Switch ]-----+ [ ] | [ Timer ] [ Pump ] [ ] | | N o--[2 4]------------------+ | | E o--------------------------------+

Either way, ensure that you have live (L), neutral (N) and earth (E) the right way round. If you don't know which is which, get someone who does know to wire this up for you.

This version of the manual says "Ensure that the 230Vac supply is connected to terminals 1 and 2. Terminals 3 and 4 are volt free. Live in goes to terminal 3 and live out to terminal 4 goes to load. There is no neutral switching with the T 80"

with this timer I should not need the switch.

can you please confirm your diagram with this info?

In that case:

I.e.:

Live -> Timer 1 and Timer 3 Timer 4 -> Pump (Live) Neutral -> Timer 2 and Pump (Neutral) Earth -> Pump (Earth)
