"Transition Mode" DAQ?

Long ago, I remember using a logic analyzer that could be used in "Transition Mode". In this mode, it would continuously record data at a high clock rate and only write to disk when a qualifying trigger event occurred. Then it would re-arm and record until the next qualifying event.



At the end of a session, I was left with a number of disk files containing high resolution records of events preceding, during and after the trigger event. I could view them on the analyzer or download them as a .CSV file.



"Transition Mode" was the cat's pajamas for troubleshooting intermittent- and low-probability events while using precious buffer memory and disk space efficiently.



Now I need something analogous to "Transition Mode" to record very low probability direct-current (single ended) events of say 1 V at say 10 MHz sample rate. The trigger would be a simple DC threshold sampled from the input.



I'm aware of many economical DAQ solutions which would allow me to record *one* event per record but I'm greedy and want records of all the events which occur over an interval of about an hour. There may be ten such events in an hours time.



I could design this DAQ but I want to see if that process is unnecessary.



Can anyone point me to a DAQ that'll do that?
