No direct experience (I use Data I/O equipment). However, EETools seems to have a pretty good reputation. I would say check with them to make sure your device is supported, look at the feature set, and make your decision.

Has anyone any experience or coments regard the TopMax chip/eprom programmer? I am new to the hobby and am looking or a good model that supports M27C160 (42 pin) chips.
I had one (maybe it was a "ChipMax", don't remember) a few years ago. I threw it away. What a hunk of junk. I replaced it with a BP Microsystems 1200 programmer. BP-Micro stuff is top notch, but you're going to pay through the nose for it.
