"The unfounded claim came after Unsworth called Musk's miniature sub a 'PR stunt.'"
Ah, the good ol' "get really mad and butthurt but never explicitly say that it is not, in fact, a PR stunt"-defense.
It appears that Musk may not respect copyright laws and fair play:

Pretty sure the designers here @ s.e.d. like to know their copyrights are protected. So, why not protect an artists work. If Musk's team wanted to use the image it would not have been hard to find the source and simply ask. The fellow may have said yes (or no) but not being asked is what the problem is and Musk saying he made the guy some money is not a civil answer. An apology and perhaps find a way to work it out with the artist would be the class act here.
Surly with your current situation in the USA it would be nice to see some class acts again.

Musk's idea was plain stupid ... and he's always doing stuff like this. Whe n Boeing was losing $50M a day with their grounded Dreamliner because of th e Li battery problem, he called to tell their engineers they need to have a little gap between each of the batteries, that they can't just pack them t ight. Boeing told him thanks for the thought but they have a handle on it. All of his businesses are on the verge of implosion, except possible the Sp aceX thing which gets a big government infusion.

Then what are you doing here?

Musk is getting unhinged. Too many balls in the air. His empire keeps losing billions and will probably collapse.
Suits me.

An employee who used social media on the clock to engage in Twitter-beefs would probably be reprimanded for misuse of company time. I guess when you're the CEO you can do as you like.
As an investor I would be a bit concerned though because it's like dude don't you have cars to build that you're months behind on already?
Actually they are pretty well up to speed on the Model 3 production. I have been invited to specify and order the cars I put a deposit on with delivery in 2 to 4 months they estimate. They have even opened up ordering to people with no reservations.
Funny that some claim the back orders are a sign that Tesla is doing a bad job. But they are shipping as many of one model as the top three all electric vehicles combined. The other electric car companies wish they had the same problem.

He'll probably run for president sometime soon. Trump's empire lost billions and large chunks of it collapsed. If Musk shows up on "The Apprentice" it might br good time to emmigrate.
