There I go :)
Ok, feels a bit relieving, I should make two backups maybe... one for the fault and one at home... but neh... not gonna do that.
I am gonna bring my latest backup to the data fault :)
I also had an older data backup from 22 april 2007. Gonna keep that here.
Yeah that's a DVD as well.
So this was my second DVD it was interesting to here my DVD drive spin up again LOL.
Just as last time I used WinRAR... but this time I made sure the following was also on the DVD:
- The FileDisk Tool/Source/Executables packed inside a RAR.
- WinRar351 self extracting installer.
- Batchfiles for mounting the disk images.
A pc with a dvd drive and windows should now be able to easily restore the data backup if needed ;)
The write speed was fast 22 MB/sec ! The verification speed was only 11 MB/sec or so... probably because of memory compares.
WinRar probably needed an hour or so to compress 30 GB downto 2 GB or so.
I watched a nice ww2 movie... about trying to assinate winston churchill... but he was a look-a-like that got murdered lol.
Anyway I wonder if PC's maybe need integrated compression chips to speed stuff up.
Maybe integrated hash chips and encryption chips.
Gonna add comp.arch too for this.
Bye, Skybuck.
