Tape and box -- cut tape?

Jul 28, 2008 2 Replies

Finally bought myself a lead former (yeah !) -- now that leaded components are rapidly becoming has-been.

And after buying bulk forever, I need to know --

What is the difference between "cut tape" and "tape and box" that digi key has listed in their resistors?

I know what tape and reel are --- are tape and box that "fanfold" arrangement?

I need to start feeding my new lead former.

THANKS

Have you tried asking Digi-Key? (or wherever you're getting them)

Good Luck! Rich

AKA "ammo pack".

Should all be on the datasheets!

In general, "tape and reel" would be parts on tape, rolled onto a reel (maybe 5,000 parts per reel). "tape and box" is the more compact folded version of that (maybe 2,000 parts per box). Cut tape would be some length removed from one of the previously mentioned types (small quantity only). Best regards, Spehro Pefhany
