My maternal grandmother was a Christian (capital C) who also wrote poison pen letters. Not much "love" there.

I've seen such "love" destroy three generations of a family.

As a 4yo, I knew a family of 4. The mother was naive and young, the father as a simple but loving family squaddie serving overseas. He enjoyed playing with his two children whenever he was at home.

When the father was away, a Miss Lily White(!) nailed the wife's soul to the door of their church, as drove a wedge between her and her husband. That destroyed the marriage, and buggered up their ~3yo daughter.

Fast forward 30 years, and that daughter infamously left her

11yo daughter alone at home for a month. That daughter was taken into care for a couple of years.

As of 2008 (15 years on), it the daughter-grandaughter relationship is highly questionable. I've no idea what happened to the mother.

At this point the number of cats and dogs seems somewhat random. Currently both cats were strays, Two dogs came from the divorce across the street, and the last dog, Cobber, came from me mum, RIP. Cobber is having a great time. He was prancing around with a deer leg bone in his mouth the other day. There's a ginger cat hanging around the barn, I'm doing my best to scare it away... I'm a dog person.
