I thought many Americans liked to consider themselves fiercely independent rebels, when did cheering for the police each time they gun down some poor (usually unarmed) wretch become an honorable act?
They often they seem to say they pull the trigger because they're "scared." Certainly not the type of law enforcement the (fictional) Marshall Matt Dillon in e.g. "Gunsmoke"
had me believe as a child were the respectable kind.
