Funny thing is that Grainger is McMaster's biggest customer - this according to a friend who works for McMaster sales in Georgia. Guess they have tiered pricing system.
I just searched for a replacement thermostat for my chest freezer. Things been running full on for about a month now... Grainger had a bunch of bulb type 'stats in the 50-200 dollar range, none of which thrilled me. The OEM part from Sears was ridiculous- could have replaced the whole freezer for that price. Grainger also listed an electronic unit with thermistor probe that was programmable for use heating or cooling and had a LCD readout of temperature - made by Ranco. Model ETC-111000-000 Digital Temperature Controller was $75 from Grainger and $59 from Ranco online.
I figure that I'll mount this to the wall next to the freezer's electrical outlet and wire it into the outlet. Most of the exterior of the freezer is used for heat dissipation from the condensor - so I'm a bit hesitant to drill mounting holes.
