Rigol vs Siglent Scope

Anyone care to compare the two brands. I am looking for a 100 MHz, 4 ch scope.

How much are they. I really want a keysight 'scope... I think the

4 chan low end is >$2k.

If you aren't particular about USB, you can get a nice refurb TDS744 for less than $900 on eBay. An hour's work turns it into a 4 GS/s, 1-GHz TDS784. (I've done two of them.)

They're reasonably simple to talk to via GPIB, if you have a Prologix GPIB adapter. Simon and I have been taking a bunch of laser noise data that way recently.

I have seen a discontinued Rigol model for $499.

I don't need the UHF, but all of the measurement capabilities are a must. Also is small size so I can set it up in my RV. GPIB = Granny's Pathetic Interface Bus.

Well, if you live in your car, the tradeoffs are different of course. What are you measuring, the battery voltage?

I can't speak to the Siglent's, but I own (2) Rigol scopes myself, and we also use several Rigol scopes at the shop.

I own a DS2302A and a DS2072A-S. Both came with the advanced triggering & bus decoding options add-on for free. Rigol scopes are easy to use and a great value, in my opinion. Those are both 2-channel scopes, but for the work I do, that's usually enough.

No, I don't live in my "car" (actually it is a truck). But I do live a few months of the year in my RV (recreational vehicle). While comfortable, it does not have room for a full lab bench.

And, as a matter of fact, yes I am measuring battery voltage (and current) using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.
