I bought this cheap rice cooker but i dont like it..its not much better than a stovetop and pot.the problem is that when its done cooking the rice it continues to"warm" which just means its keeps cooking but a bit slower i think.I would prefer the unit stop cooking when the rice is tender and stillin indivudual grains rather than going on to make a goooey mushyconglomerate.cold tender rice can be microwaved later while stillmaintaining the minimally cooked texture and quality.so i would like the cooker to STOP and cool when the cook cyclecompletes. I have dismantled the cooker in attempt to sperate thecooking and warming features but am again stumped.a circuit diagram is available in the manualhere:my nooby opinion is that the diagram is not a schematic and i maystill need to provide youa photo of both sides of the control panel.the diagram seems show the unit is always cooking only to be slowed bythe limiter and the thermostat. i cannot find the limiter..seems likemay be a function of the microswitch and the pan-weighted thermaltriggerthe only solution i see is a 110v rated relay that cuts the heatingelement when the micro switch closes.not shown in the diagram is that the micro switchis thrown by a spring loaded weighted contact pad under the rice panthat senses the loss of weight and pops up to close the switch orperhaps that assy. is actually the "limiter" device since i have notidentfied that device elsewhere..i tried disconnecting the thermostat butthe diagram agrees that the heater will still get power from the warmlamp circuit?i think maybe u want photos of the internals of this thing?

Reminds of a hilarious event...

Back around 1976-1980 we had a series of Japanese exchange students.

They always came during July-August.

One time it was decided to treat the students to "Thanksgiving", turkey, dressing... the whole works.

To accommodate the crowd, it was all set up in a high school cafeteria, with each "mom" creating a table's worth of food, buffet style.

Our student, Keiko, walked all around surveying everyone's presentation, then declares in a VERY loud voice, "My mom's is best!" :-) ...Jim Thompson

My mother was a very good cook, as were my aunts. However, at family reunions we'd always eat one aunt's (my mother's sister) stuff. She always made cookies for us (had no children of her own). ;-)

It didn't matter what my mom made. Her, and my grandmother's cooking was the first to disappear from the 20'+ table. Boy, do I miss those days.

Semolina is made from wheat.It's the same stuff they make pasta out of.

Tapioca is (IIRC), the pith of a tropical palm tree, AKA manioc.

When I was a kid, I got kidded that tapioca pudding was harvested from frog pools ;-)

I always tell the kids that bubble tea (I presume bubble tea is familiar to everyone these days?) is made with fish eyes.

The black things at the bottom are tapioca "pearls". The straw is just big enough diameter that the tapioca balls can be sucked up through th straw. It's also cut diagonally at one end so you can stab the heat sealed cover to make a hole -- the one in the photo looks like it was done wrong ;-)
