I hate fixing appliances, so it's worth a fair amount to me to just make the problem go away.
The last appliance I repaired was also a double convection oven--it had a loose handle and had grunge between the window panes. That wasn't too painful.

Sad that. Back in the sixties a man could raise several children at a very small cost. Now, it takes child seats and day care and all other manner of total bullshit costs.
I always liked the bare bones muscle cars better too. All this cramped engine compartment and 50 odd transducer crap is lame.
Online type UPS's would be ok with bad waveforms I think.
It probably has multiple emitters that spread the energy much better than the rotating reflector things. The kids don't realize that it heats more evenly than the other models they've used.

1999, and have had no trouble with it except a cracked drain hose.Well, I did have problems when the phosphate was removed from dishwasher detergents, but that's a different issue.

I use a stainless Panasonic that also does convection.
The best working way though, is to use the duty cycle "power level", which gives time for the heat to soak through between 'hot' segments of the duty cycle session.
Nearly all are the random radiator reflector type though. One further key to even cooking is a good, fast turntable speed.
I'm a bit of a fan of old appliances, but would not pick a 70s microwave. They suffer a few significant issues:
- poor evenness of heating, inconvenient & increases risk of food poisoning. (If you have one from then that heats evenly you're lucky)
- unsafe interlock system that risks cooking the user
- carbon loaded door seals prone to leaking or being missing altogether
- often a HV cooking power switch that will fry you if its insulation breaks down
- typically 2 power levels. 5 is better, though 2 covers 98% of use.

I will usually try and see what's wrong. Even if I can't fix it and end up tossing the thing, it still can be time well spent. It's good to see how things are put together. OK maybe not as useful as fixing old test gear, but there is a lot more of the broken consumer stuff. :^)

LG had a problem with the light staying on, overheating melting plastic parts along with spoiled food. LG had a class action suit and ended up paying for repairs.

That's why they put screens over the drain, rather than use a grinder like better (and even cheaper) ones? Cleaning the screen can get pretty gross. I'd never buy a Bosch dishwasher. They're overpriced junk.
Just replace it with TSP (unless you live in one of the police states that have made possession of TSP a criminal offense).
That will troubleshoot it down to the module level. Any problem with the module will either be obvious (at least to Win)- a connection or a relay probably or unfixable (bad micro or whatever) and a new module can be purchased online for cheap.
6 relays.. 2 blue and 4 smaller black ones. Probably one of those. Maybe all that late night snacking while working on AoE drafts?

It looks pretty easy to pop a new pump in. Much less time that waiting around for a repair guy to show up.
I unjammed ours - a shard of broken glass had fallen in- so I looked up the videos in case the worst had happened.
My philosophy on this stuff is generally to fix the product myself or throw it out and buy a new one. I'm not going to spend $300 on a service call for a well-used product that is $800 new.
Different approach then- you just had lots of kids to take care of attrition.
Some of those things go for silly prices these days. Enormous prices for a car that sold for $5K or whatever back then.
Incredibly quiet- they do seem to take twice as long as the noisy Kenmore one we had before.
