Presumably they go into [short lived] novelty products, unmarked.

Do you disagree that they are religious fanatic nutcases?

So I don't rank them as rational. ...Jim Thompson

They make noises like that. So do people in the U.S.

We don't get a lot of information about Iran. If Anthony Bourdain does not make you ill, there is the "Parts Unknown" set in Iran.

Iranians have a clear picture of the difference between Americans and the American government.

Since .... before 1979, the irritation of the CIA/MI assassination of Mosaddegh in 1953 was a grain of sand around which the pearl of anti-Westernism was formed.

But in 1953, Britain was still recovering from WWII and nationalizing the oil fields was bad form at best.

It's all in a much larger context; "A Peace to End All Peace" covers it all in exhaustive detail. Turns out it's all really about the decline and fall of the Ottoman Empire after all.

Nobody is. Look, people are claiming Obama is invading Texas now. It's just entertainment product.

Would you ever design a product using typical specs?

Sure, if I would be happy with the typical performance.

Some parts are dependably better than their max specs, like breakdown voltage. I sometimes use parts at 2x their specified max voltage, if there's a big performance payoff.

We buy some schottky diodes that are spec'd for 2 volts max reverse voltage, and use them at 4 volts. Thet seem fine at 6 volts.

Avago makes some enhancement phemts that are specified for 6 volts max, and start to leak seriously at 25 or so.

A lot of RF parts are seriously under-specified for voltage. Maybe they assume that peak swing will be twice the supply voltage, or something.

Perhaps but celebrating 75 years of 'peace' with a military parade seems a bit odd to me. For a while I was hoping Russia would become a solid business partner for the EU but unfortunately they are now ruled by some power hungry maniac.
