Reminds me of the guy who tried to get out of a red light ticket by arguing to the judge that he was going so fast the red light shifted up into the green by the Doppler effect.

I didn't hear if the judge bought it or not! But, to a lawyer, it sounds plausible enough.

Nah, the only way to do that is to be funny enough (or female and good enough looking) to keep the cop talking till he gets another call. Judges have all the time in the world.

Hmm... I heard the judge calculated the speed at which that shift occurs and said he'd charge him for the incredible illegal speed he drove at the time.

Yeah, except most Judges and Lawyers are not scientifically inclined and couldn't calculate if they wanted to.
