Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.

I've just started reading this:
Pretty interesting so far.
John
Doesn't is say that you get turned into a virgin?
Which raises the point as to how those 72 virgins in heaven feel about being allocated as shagging-fodder?
There are only 72, shared by hundreds of thousands of martyrs.
John
...and no one mentions the gender of those virgins. (They're all guys.)
That's right, virgin by decree, not fact.
How are they still virgins? Is it like the Xtian heaven, where the women have no hole?
Thanks, Rich
Dont forget the rest of it:-

Q. Why is the camel called the ship-of-the-desert? A. Because it's full of Arab seamen!
Where are all those heavenly harps made? Some kind of heavenly Dickensian metalworking sweatshop?
I remember a (hopefully apocryphal) story of a Westerner asking a Japanese person when the dead were going to rise from their graves to enjoy the rice and oranges that were left there. The answer was that it would be the same time the Westerner's deceased loved ones rose to smell their flowers.
Good one !

WTF? How do they talk?
Interestingly, the word "virgin" doesn't appear once in the entire Koran, at least not in the English translation I found somewhere on the 'Net.
robert
How about "maiden" or "spinster?"
Thanks, Rich
Negative. There might have females mentioned, but in no context that would allow them to be interpreted as some kind of trophy.
robert
I wonder, then, where did that "72 virgins" legend come from?
Thanks, Rich
They said 'virgin'. Gender was not specified.
Its entirely possible that they'll all have to take turns being each others virgins.
