I find that many times people who argue wrongly or differently simply don't know the facts.

So their arguments aren't surprising--if we thought those things, we'd argue the same way.

These days it's best not to rely on journalism majors for research, analysis, or, especially, arithmetic.

Yep. I just had a run-in with a newspaper editor who didn't know the meaning of the word "wont", so he edited my text, changing its meaning completely and published without asking. He "won't" (different word) do it again... ever ;-)

You must live in a different part of the world... big item on last night's news: gun shops sell out ALL ammo within one day of receiving shipments.

Methinks my view that a civil war is in the making is correct. Even my "never confront anyone" wife is beginning to think differently.

WA is not exactly a "border area" in the sense i think (more like states bordering Mexico). So in a way, good to hear that nitpicking is not US wide (?yet?). Thanks for the feedback.
