Why is it any kind of f*ck-up?
The kids could have used more preparation, but it isn't going to make much difference to their performance in tertiary education.
The ACT tests are more a rank ordering system than any serious assessment of how well students are prepared for tertiary education, which demands different kinds of skills than does secondary education, and ones that aren't easy to assess in couple hours spent working through a test paper.
Gnatguy wouldn't know much about that, as any of those kind of skills he might once have had don't seem to show up in his posts here.
