No one sees it for what it's supposedto be. That fear is supported by Soviet, Chinese and others'atrocities in the name of communism, and drilled into us by just asmany years of Soviet-fearing propaganda. In aworld of finite resources, exponential growth is utterly andcompletely impossible. (A quick calculation shows that, once wetackle fusion technology, global warming will quickly becomeinevitable (within a few centuries) -- not due to CO2 but due to pureheat energy produced by the process!) We will eventually have to slowdown and change our economic and political system, for better or forworse, in order to simply survive.
