Wow! How nice to make it available.

It was with this book that I first learned to estimate the temperature rise in my transformer designs.

It's a hellova reference book.

It must have been a labor of love. Someone sure went to a lot of trouble to scan all ~1,400 pages. Every page so far is highly readable.

I got my first copy in high school and would stay up all night reading it. That was over 50 years ago, but it is still an excellent reference.

Of course, this is not the first time people have mentioned that website here before, though I don't recall if the same person is posting about it. Actually, I gather there are mirrors of the site too.

And there are other scanned technical books there, old ARRL and Bill Orr Radio Handbooks, and quite a few others.

I think he uses a sheet feeder scanner. There is a note on the main page that he's looking for other old technical books, with the caveat that they will be shredded. Hence, he must be taking the pages out of the binding, and the big reason for that is that he must have a feeder for the scanner.

You're right, it's not the one I was thinking of.

The website that I remember was

They had 18 books online, according to the webpage, which I'd archived back in the fall.

I thought I'd written down something locally about the connection between the two sites, but I can't find such a note. There had to be some reason at the time why I thought there was a connection. I do know I've seen a post about that scorpiorising.ca site before.

So try the other site later and hopefully it is still up, because there were some interesting books. Though, I have mixed feelings about the digital aspect. It's nice to have them handy, but for a lot of the content except for a handful of readers, the information is too old to be commonly needed. SO they are the sorts of books you want to just sit down and read for the sake of reading, and I don't find a computer monitor so great for that. But then, I got my RH4 for $2 at a university used book sale a decade ago.

The problem is bandwidth. It seems that all people want to do is download the thing, whether or not they ever get around to reading it, or using it. The site and it's mirrors will continue to flicker, under this kind of magpie traffic.
