Not necessary. Just tap the switch a few times, and the gate voltage increasingly seesaws at each tap. In effect, it's already a phase-shift oscillator.
So it's a single-button controlled push-push switch and dimmer.
SPDT could be even neater.

I love those tiny schmitts. For oscillators, switching regulators, clock cleanup, debounce. Just don't try making a crystal oscillator from one.

Just put 3 finger-size pads on a PCB with narrow spaces between them. Middle on goes through 100k or something to the gate. Top and bottom go to +V and GND. No switch or capacitor required.
