There are plenty of ways to do it digitally that do not involve the uncertainty if IP protocols. SMPTE has very good latency controlled digital systems. Total interoperability for compliant units.

Sure, but a church's budget is limited and we prefer to use more of the offerings to help with the food bank and stuff rather than buying expensive new gear. I think the old Yamaha power mixer has the potential to hang on for another five years. And it works :-)

It certainly is in the "mainstream" churches. There are a lot of congregational churches that are doing very well. Like newspapers, they have made their (death) bed.

Sure, several varieties. ...and lotsa Presbyterian. Can't count 'em all. ;-) My wife goes to a large Babtist church here. Large enough to own half of the downtown area. There is a smaller Babtist church in back of our house (next road over). They're apparently doing quite well too; just built a new sanctuary. Now is the time to build, and they are.

Ours is congregational (Lutheran) and slightly growing.

Same here, we want to build a large two-story educational building plus a ballfield for the community around us. Problem is, while contractors are hungry fundraising is very difficult in this economy.

A lot of these churches have a lot of cash and likely more importantly, cash flow. OTOH, the church my wife went to in VT just had to decide to do something (i.e. build a gym) and the money appeared. When we left they had just decided to sell their current property (the town wouldn't let them build a new sanctuary on the other side of the road) and move to a more friendly town. ;-) They didn't seem to be worried about the megabux it was going to cost.

You're so smart you have to repeat yourself 3 times to get your message across.... and I am older than 10.

I don't engage in fraudulent internet use such as the OP of this thread has done. I know anyone with the twisted aim of fooling others and hiding their identity can fake proxys but I haven't investigated how it is done because I don't need to know. The core of this issue is why does any smartarse feel the need to show their internet savvy and play childish games with such a useful tool as the internet. It is there for normal people who want to use it for its intended purpose, not juvenile gameplayers who love to jerk off and show how smart they are - while showing nothing more than how brainless they really are.

There is no requirement to buy fancy, what those standards get you is guaranteed interoperability.
