POSSIBLE OFF-TOPIC: Self-introduction and annoucement/invitation

Dear Owner, This is a message introducing myself, and announcing the creation of a google translation project group (I appologize if 's against the rules). Thank you, Marco ............................

Self-introduction (and a project)

Dear Members,

I joined the group sometime ago, but this is possibly my first message, so let me introduce myself. My name is Marco Juliano e Silva, and I'm basically a technical translator, although I'm starting new activities.

My reasons to enroll are a personal and professional interest in this subject, but this message is also to communicate about a project I have of making human translators interact more with professionals of other areas, in an agile, practical and quick way.

To this end, I just created the google group tecschange ("technical exchange"). To those who might be interested in participating, I would ask as a first step that they just join the group and state their field of expertise and native language.

Thank you,

Marco Juliano

PS: I=92ve also created a yahoo group by the name texchange, with the same purpose. The reason I created one group at google=92s and another at yahoo=92s is because people tend to polarize between these two vehicles, and also because I=92m deciding which one is better for my purpose. For the moment, I=92ll run the two groups =96 this is doable, since for thetime being the main task is to just invite people - but eventually I intend to unify them. There is no need, but should you feel like joining both groups, you=92re welcome.

You are sadly mistaken. What you did was go through "Google groups" to reach the Usenet - no relation, no ownership to Google (although they might want to make you think so).

Get a "news reader" and use your ISP to connect and subscribe to Usenet (usually free in the US and many other countries) lurk (listen to get the gist of what is acceptable) and learn then post.

Look up Usenet and news readers (in that order) and all will make sense.

No one owns this group. It is un moderated, and no one cares who you are (generally speaking, of course)
