Your gratitude would have seemed more sincere if you'd got his name right.

You've posted here often enough that you ought to have been able to notice that you hadn't got it quite right, and often enough that you ought to realise that this is one name that you shouldn't get wrong. He's number nine by quantity in the list of people who post here regularly, but up there with Jeorg on quality.

Bill, I think you'll find its "Joerg" not "Jeorg". :)

By Internet law, a spelling flame must contain a misspelling (or misplaced/missing apostrophe) of it's* own.

fair enough!
I suppose that even if your name is "Bob Jones" you still have to get used to people misspelling it.

Every darn summer I choose a summer drink. Grape Kool-Aid cut 1/4 tastes good, reminds me of what swims around looks to me of Mr.BS. Ken
I had the most hilarious (for me) email conversation with the owner of the domain westcottdesign.com.
It revolved around the fact (that was new to me) that for every way that a Wescott can try to hint someone in the direction of spelling the name correctly ("no 't' in the middle", "Wescott with two 't's", etc.) and have them fail _anyway_, there is an equivalent for Westcotts. The one that finally made me fall out of the chair was:
"That's Westcott, with three 't's"
"Certainly, Ms. Wescottt".
