Found a good sub for 7 bucks on Ebay. Have you ever had to re-build the battery pack or found a good sub? Not sure if the pack is Tek proprietary as I don't have the scope yet, but I'm sure not going to buy this from Tek either as they want $300!

Buy two and take one apart before hooking it up to your nice scope. I'd go for a good quality one instead, if I were you.

Agreed. You can buy a nice Phihong one from Digikey for like $30.

The eBay steaming-POS adapter will probably be unsafe and degrade your scope's performance due to noise.

If this is correct, then Inspired Energy is probably the battery supplier:

Interstate Batteries has what they claim is an equivalent battery, their part number MED0088, for $219. It doesn't list a Tektronix part number as equivalent, though. I don't *know* if this battery works in your scope; I just Googled it up. More info at the following hideous URLs:

Hmm... This may be the source of some of the knockoffs. $189 MSRP, they list retailers on their site. The test button and fuel gauge window look like the one on the Interstate Batteries part.

Again, I haven't plugged any of these batteries into a TPS2024. I just Googled them up.
