Trump seems to have taken to making his spiteful ramblings from behind two sheets of ballistic glass when he's seen in public these days, people can say what they want about his age or mental capacity but he does seem to be a fast leaner regardless.

The Left is always about death. It's a natural consequence of intolerance and contempt and needing to rule everything.

I hasn't happened in the UK.

There has recently been an arrest after a person already on trial for a different violent crime used a 'social media' account to incite violence against a minority group. In that case it was very threatening, as the victims and the violence against them were clearly specified and likely to be acted-out by followers of that account.

Ya but this one fitness influencer on the Internet told me the UK was over, though. Right before he ate 16 eggs and drank a cup of two day old warm raw milk.

It's over there total police state. Everyone died.

Marx was powerless and perfectly safe. Lenin doesn't seem to have had many deaths on his conscience. Stalin and Mao did get a lot of people killed. Castro wasn't anything like that murderous. Putin does seem to kill off his political enemies with as much enthusiasm as Stalin, and his campaign to invade Ukraine has killed off a lot of Russian cannon-fodder, but he has killed many fewer that Stalin or Mao. Kim is another autocrat, and does seem to have had a few people killed, including his brother. The common factor seems to be more autocratic power than political ideology. Trump does seem to have similar kinds of ambitions, but he's relatively ineffectual.

Not all that often. I can only think of two - in Sweden and Israel - in recent years. Their assassins were both bonkers.

As the robot take over manufacturing, farming jobs go away. The communist ideal that nobody needs to work apart from robots and the people that enjoy creating robots, is not true, What remains are nursing, educating, cooking, providing company (escorts), science. Apart from science that is much like being a parent, by the way. Entertainment also falls in the category that doesn't go away. That comprises sport (and sport trainers) and live music. We are going to a future with more people working for pop and classic concerts than lawyers. Note that the motivation to do anything is not money, but the satisfaction that it gives. The market is going to fade.

The killer of Charles Kirk is a very intelligent young lad, with hardly an interest in politics. Apparently he was struck by the absolute hateful and negative influence Kirk had and he decided to do something about it. Fortunately (?) his upbringing in a gun-loving family gave him the means and training to take Kirk out. The marxist view is that those type of killings mostly backfire, it gives the opponent a claim they are right and escalate to more violence.

In this case at least a positive effect is that everybody thinks that Israel was to blame (and maybe it is after all).

The US hegemony is cultural, not military. That's pretty much unstoppable. People everywhere are speaking american english, not French or German or Japanese.

Eventually we'll have a world culture with local variants, and it will look pretty American.

Take a world tour on Street View. Everything is starting to look like Dallas.

In the same way they used to read Latin. Scientists publish in English, mainly because American scientist don't read anything not published in English - even if it gets published in an American journal. There was great paper on photomultiplier linearity published in the American Journal of Applied Optics, but it was in German, so very few Americans have read it. That got me a publication.

Dream on. Trump is cutting American spending on anything that looks like science or culture. The best is the enemy of the good, and America currently doesn't even seem to want to reach adequate.

Cheap and nasty is pretty much the same everywhere. My wife did her Ph.D. in Dallas and was not impressed.

I don't like Dallas myself, but that's what happens when you have a mild climate and lots of land and people want houses and cars and kids. San Francisco is much more interesting, and not flat, but it's not affordable.

The other thing you see in Street View is bilingual shopping districts, signs in the local language and English.

I was in Ngoya and tried to buy a Japanese-language baseball cap for one of my kids. They were all in English. The big store was all Levis and Pierre Cardin stuff, same as here, with one tiny section of traditional stuff on the 6th floor with one lonely old saleslady waiting for a customer to show up.

The Japanese mostly live in, well, Dallas-style houses now.

It's a blended world culture, and Dallas isn't the model, it's just sort of the average.
