OT -- Sparking Vegetables in Microwave

Foods with high saltwater content may be conductive enough to spark in a microwave. Sauerkraut would certainly fall in this category.

Non-microwave, but look up "electric pickle", or just check out this Tech report, "Characterization of Organic Illumination Systems":

Previous threads on this and related newsgroups have discussed sparking that occurs in microwave ovens with different vegetables. My wife today tried to heat a scoop of sauerkraut in the oven and saw sparking. Is this also a known phenomenon?
