If you look how many noughts on the number of tons annual procurement of lead by the petrochemical industry - all of which got pumped into the atmosphere for us to breathe.......................................
Banning lead in petrol was a good move - but RoHS banning lead in solder was brain dead (they must have a lot of pollution in Brussels!). Manufacturing
60/40 solder was *REMOVING* lead from the environment and converting it into a comparatively stable alloy. Not to mention; electronic waste increasing up to 5x because of dodgy RoHS solder. In the UK they're still finding lead water ducting from Roman times, the general replacement of domestic water pipes didn't start till about the 60s. We still have the Hoorah Henries peppering agricultural land with lead shot and countless rain and hail lashed lead roofs draining into the water table - but metal thieves are getting to work on that last one.
